Good Afternoon Fountain International Magnet School Families,

This is Charlotte Martinez with our weekly updates.  We just want to remind everyone that Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, and students and teachers do not have school on this day.

On Wednesday, January 17th, we will have our Skate City Skate Night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This is a fun skating event for all!

On Thursday, January 18th, we will have an informational parent meeting about emotional intelligence through our District No Bully Grant. The Parent Meeting will take place at 6:00 PM. Subway sandwiches and light snacks will be served from 5:30 to 6:00 PM. The meeting is intended for parents, but if parents need to bring students, then an activity will be provided. Please RSVP by Tuesday, January 16th, at 4:00 PM to 719-549-7535.

Finally, we want to remind parents that our 2018-2019 Application for Enrollment is now open. Please spread the word to interested families that now is the time to apply to FIMS.

Also, we have posted information on our webpage for the Third Session of After School Enrichment Courses, and the Permission Slip Form is also attached. The courses will start the week of January 23rd.

Lastly, our International Festival Committee has been working very diligently planning the details for this awesome event that will take place February 9th. We will be sending out more information later this week on specific needs.  This event is a great way to get those volunteer hours.

All of this information can be found on the FIMS’ Webpage under “Upcoming Events.”

Thank you and have a great weekend!

Good Afternoon Fountain International Magnet School Families,

This is Charlotte Martinez with our weekly updates! We want to congratulate all of our third grade students who participated in the FIMS’ STEM Fair this last Thursday.  All of the students did a wonderful job!

On Monday, January 8th, the Fountain International Lottery Application for the 2018-2019 school year will open up at 8:00 AM. The application will be open until February 2nd, 2018. If you have an upcoming kindergartner or know of anyone who is interested in applying to enroll in our school, please let them know that that application window will open on Monday. To access the online application, parents should go to the Pueblo City Schools main webpage and click on the "School Choice" button.

Also, on Monday, our International Festival Planning Committee will meet at 6:00 PM in the FIMS’ Learning Commons Area. This event provides a fun and educational family experience, and it also provides many opportunities to get those parent volunteer hours!  More information will be coming out later this week about the International Festival.

On Tuesday, January 9th, we will have our Student of the Month Breakfast at 7:50 AM in the FIMS’ Learning Commons Area.

On Wednesday, January 10th, we will have our PTO General Meeting at 6:00 PM in the FIMS’ Learning Commons Area. All parents are welcome to attend this event, and parents receive volunteer hours for attending.

On Thursday, January 11th, our 1st grade students will take a field trip to El Pueblo Museum.

On Friday, January 12th, we will have a Hat Day Incentive for meeting our school wide Shoparoo Goal.  Students and teachers may wear hats on this day!

Finally, this last Friday, we kicked off our Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart Awareness Event with a 3D Presentation. Mr. Wojcik is running a month long fundraiser to help bring awareness and generate funds for the American Heart Association. Students that collect money can win prizes, but more importantly, money that is raised goes to help people with heart problems, and to teach students how to maintain a healthy heart. Pledge information will be coming home with students. Please see the flyer attached to the email version of this message for more information.

All of this information can be found on the FIMS’ Webpage.

Thank you for all you do to help make our school awesome and have a great rest of your weekend!
