Good Afternoon Fountain International Magnet School Families,

We want to thank all of our families for your amazing support in our canned food drive. In one week, we collected over 960 canned food items.  Our school wide goal was 400 items, so we earned our free jean and spirit shirt day, which will take place this Friday, November 17th. Also, we wanted to let our families know that Mrs. Eckland’s class won the Box Top Collection Competition with 565 Box Tops, and her class will choose a class incentive.  We also had a great turn out at our Skate City Skate Night last week.

This week on Tuesday, November 14th, we will have our Student of the Month Breakfast at 7:50 AM in our gymnasium. Also on Tuesday, we will have our International Festival Committee Planning Meeting at 6:00 PM.

On Wednesday, November 15, we will have our General PTO Meeting at 6:00 PM.

Then on Thursday, November 16th, kindergarten students will take a field trip to the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center to see the Nutcracker. Also on Thursday, we will have a required parent meeting for third grade students who will be competing in the STEM Fair.

Just a reminder that as the weather is cooling down, so please remember to send students with coats to school each day.

Thank you for all you do to support our school and have a great weekend!

Good Afternoon Fountain International Magnet School Families,

This is Charlotte Martinez with our weekly updates! Just a reminder to set those clocks back one hour for Daylight Savings today. Also, we want to thank all of our students and staff for a wonderful Fall Intersession last week.

On Monday, November 6th, we will welcome all of our students back from the fall break. Also on Monday, we will begin our second session of After School Enrichment Classes. Please check the schedule on our school webpage as we have switched the Journalism Class to Tuesdays. If you would still like to sign-up for Journalism, please see Ms. Duarte. Monday also kicks off our TLC Canned Food Drive in collaboration with Pueblo East High School! If you have any extra canned food items that you can donate, please bring them to school. We will collect the canned food items from each homeroom class every day this week. Our goal is to collect over 400 canned food items. If we collect over 400 canned food items, then the whole school will get a free jean day! Classes that collect the most canned food items will receive a special recognition on the morning announcements.

On Wednesday, November 8th, we will have Picture Re-take Day. Extra forms can be found in the main office.  On Wednesday, our PTO EXCO Officers’ Meeting will take place at 4:00 PM in the FIMS' Media Center. Wednesday is also our Skate City Skate Night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM!

On Thursday, at 6:00 PM, our District will be hosting a Pride and Patriotism Event at Memorial Hall. More information can be found on the Pueblo City Schools Main Webpage.

Finally on Friday, we will have our $1 Jean and Spirit Shirt Day & November Birthday Celebrations! Friday will also be the collection day for Ink Cartridges, and our final day to collect canned food items.

All of this information can be found on the FIMS’ Webpage and Facebook Page.

We want to thank all of our families for their support and helping to make our school awesome!

Have a great rest of your weekend!
