Fountain International Magnet School’s website.
The mission at Fountain International Magnet School, in cooperation with students, families and communities, is to educate children as balanced individuals, global thinkers, and caring citizens. This will be accomplished in a safe environment through a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum supported by technology and guided by purposeful assessment. Our expectation is that students maintain a 3.5 grade point average.
Our vision at Fountain International is that all students will attain a high level of achievement utilizing local, state, and international standards. This will prepare them to succeed in our global society and inspire them to become life-long learners.
Fountain International offers a focused curriculum emphasizing technology, mathematics, and science facilitated through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Fountain International is an IB authorized school. Within the IB frameworks, our students receive instruction in the arts, humanities, world-language and physical education classes along with the core content areas. The entire staff at Fountain International is highly committed to our students learning and success. Expected enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year is 400 students.
A critical component of our school community is parent involvement. Our parents are required to complete 18 volunteer hours during the school year. As parent support is critical to the success of each student, we are committed to active and positive communication with parents utilizing a variety of mediums.
Students dress for success everyday by wearing a standard school uniform. Formal uniform attire is worn on Wednesdays, special occasions and on field trips.
Our school calendar is modified with school beginning the second week of August and ending the second week of June. Students have a two week Fall Break and two week Spring Break. During these breaks, students are offered the opportunity of attending Intersession enrichment and intervention activities.
